We’ve created two runs and walks on Strava for you to enjoy while staying at Louma. Both trails begin outside the main barn, taking you out into the local countryside before looping back to the start.
If you’re an experienced runner, looking for a challenge, our hilly 10k route provides a serious workout on a wide variety of terrains. You’ll run through Charmouth Forest, past ancient pastureland, meadows, and the historic sites of Coney’s Castle and Lambert’s Castle. Sadly the castles are no longer standing, but the spots still afford the most incredible views.
There are areas of dense foliage, so we advise wearing long leggings.
For those wanting a shorter run, this takes you through our vineyards, pastureland and Charmouth Woods. The steepest part is at the start but be aware that the entire trail is mostly uphill, with a 300ft elevation gain. For those who prefer a solid surface, this run is mostly on paved road.
Of course you’re welcome to walk the routes as well. You can take dogs on the paths, but poo bins are limited and you need to always keep your dog on the lead.
If you’d like to find other walks, have a chat with our Guest Relations Team who can give you more ideas.
